Q1 Scientific Shortlisted for 2021 Pharma Industry Awards
The Pharma Industry Awards 2021 recognise and celebrate the most original and innovative companies that demonstrate excellence in the Irish Pharma sector.
As a benchmark of our service, Q1 Scientific has been shortlisted for ‘Pharma Contract Services Company of the Year’. After winning the same award last year, being shortlisted again this year is a great achievement and recognition of our team’s continued hard work.
Pharma Industry Awards 2021 highlighting our strength in the sector
The last number of years has seen Q1 Scientific go from strength to strength with Q1 Scientific being part of the supply chain process for a large portion of the 20 biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world.
As a global leader in outsourced environmentally controlled stability storage, our state-of-the-art GMP facility based in Waterford, Ireland has grown by 900% over the last 8 years. Q1 Scientific was first established in 2012 with a 5,000 Square foot storage facility based in Waterford. In 2020 we completed the company’s third and fourth expansions taking the facility from 10,000 to 15,000 and finally 20,000 square feet of pharmaceutical storage with over 7500 storage spaces.
It is a huge testament to our business that the Q1 Scientific team has grown by 16% over the past year with additional team members across sales, quality and operations.
Speaking of the news, CEO at Q1 Scientific Stephen Delaney says,
“Being shortlisted again after winning the award last year is a great achievement. It’s a great boost to the team at Q1 Scientific who work incredibly hard to ensure we are world leaders in the provision of stability storage. It also reinforces the importance of the work we do each day for our clients.”
Celebrating our key achievements over the last year
To drive industry innovation over the last 12 months, we have focused on ways to share our business news, our helpful industry insights and build upon our reputation and profile as stability storage industry leaders:
As the Covid-19 vaccines were coming to market our CEO, Stephen Delaney was able to share our knowledge and experience around vaccine storage and distribution through a Science of Business podcast interview and conversations with the Irish media. With a range of ultra-low freezers on-site here in Waterford we understand the risks and requirements for ultra-low storage.
Following feedback from customers we launched the Q1 Scientific webinar series in the second half of 2020. This series is designed for those working in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors with responsibility for designing and managing stability studies. By sharing our industry insights along with Dr. Mark Powell, we hope to inspire and educate people working within the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
The ‘Science of Business’ podcast series was launched in 2020 and shares the insights, career journeys, the start-up phase and behind the scenes stories from one of Ireland’s most successful business sectors. Q1 Scientific founder and multi-award-winning serial entrepreneur Louise Grubb hosts the podcast series and meets some of the key people behind Ireland’s global success in the pharma, life sciences and biomedical sectors.
To boost operational performance, we recently introduced new quality and maintenance management systems. Moving to automated, cloud-based systems allow the entire team to collaborate seamlessly with a full digital record of all activity. These new electronic systems free up our team to focus more on managing risks which occur across the quality environment, document control processes, regulatory climate and client specific requirements.
Overall, we are proud to say that throughout Covid-19 we remained fully operational. We played a key role in assisting customers with their product stability requirements, business continuity measures, extra storage capacity or new drug development studies. All customer sample pulls, set downs and deliveries operated as normal with no impact to customers or business.
